Sunday Family Dinner

Last weekend we went up to Vancouver to spend time with the whole (Lindquist) family. This past Sunday was Easter and traditionally I think we would all get together at my parent's house then, but Karter and Melanie headed back to Idaho for school. 

It was great to see everyone. I am continually amazed at how great each of my brothers are and how they are lucky to have all found someone special. Our boys had a blast playing with all their aunt and uncles.

 A semi-competitive game of badminton, a little friendly game of basketball, lots of good food and great conversations. 

Since my parent's agreed to take care of dinner for everyone I volunteered to make dessert. We had a sibling vote and the winner choice was a No Bake Samoa Cheesecake. 

I'm not gonna lie, it was relatively easy to make and REALLLLY delicious! 

I added whip cream and it was the perfect addition. 

OH SO GOOD! 

Tyler's trip to Boise

At the end of September Tyler flew to Boise to visit with his buddies from college, Johnny and Matt. Tyler and Matt have been making it tradition to go watch one of BSU's football games each year and this year Johnny decided to join in. Last month they went to the BSU/ Oregon game. While Tyler was there in Boise he was also able to go to Tucanos for his "birthday dinner" and visit with his parents and Derek.


Tyler didn't end up getting tickets to go the game in the end, but still had an awesome time being there and said just being able to go that morning's Game Day was worth it for him. I'm sure that this is a tradition that these guys will for sure be keeping up.

While Tyler was in Boise-- Quincy, Braxton, and I went to my parents house for the weekend! Mostly we just hung out, but it was nice to come up for a night or two. As you can tell from the pictures, we had a blast just kicking back.

Fun at Grammie and Grandpa's House!

Grammie and Grandpa like to have Quincy over about once a week. Usually he gets to stay the night in his very own room, but since it's finally warmed up enough outside Grammie had to have Quincy over for a 'camp out'.

Quincy got to do lots of fun things on his 'camp out' like toasting marshmallows to make smores. (Grandpa Loren said Quincy didn't have the patience to sit there and toast the marshmallow, he was more content to eat them out of the bag.) Still, he enjoyed the smore making activity, though Grammie says he ate more un-toasted marshmallows than toasted ones.

Later when it got dark they set up the tent in the backyard and put their cots and blankets in it to sleep on. They read books in the dark tent with flashlights. Quincy even got to wear a special headlamp. They had lots of fun 'camping', but eventually came inside to sleep since Quincy was distracted by all the noise of cars driving by on the street and other outside noises.

Also, while at Grammie and Grandpa's Quincy got to go to the Clark County Fair. Uncle Scott and Uncle Karter were working there... so they got to go for free.

Quincy saw lots of animals... he was a little tired and crabby from having so much fun the night before that I heard he didn't get to enjoy the animals as much as the previous petting zoo he went to, but I think that he liked it overall. They saw lots of carnival rides, the Ferris wheel, animal exhibits, a rodeo show, and ate yummy 'fair food'.

By the time Quincy came back home to us... he was exhausted!

He can't wait for his next adventure there, maybe next year he will be able to camp through the whole night.....

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day Weekend we had the pleasure of being with all my family. My sister Emy, Gil, and Lexi were able to come up from California to visit for the weekend. It was so nice to see them and Quincy REALLY enjoyed seeing his cousin Lexi!

This will probably be one of the last times we're all together since Scotty put in his mission papers and is expecting a mission call this next week!

We loved being able to spend a fun and relaxing weekend together with the whole family. Thanks for having a Birthday Grammie, and thanks Em for bring that sweet little niece of ours up to play. We hope to see you guys again soon!

Quincy's Vacation Pool

Even though Grammie and Grandpa Loren already sent Quincy money to get a pool for our house they decided that since it's been so hot here they would just buy one to keep at their house. And really, it's been so STINKIN' hot here! Yesterday it was 106*!! The coolest it was ALL day was 72*! It's crazy..... do you think we brought our Idaho heat with us? I hope not because I was seriously looking forward to enjoying some cooler weather.

While Tyler, Scotty, Karter, and I drove out to Multon Falls Yesterday, Quincy stayed home and played in his new 'fancy' pool with the palm tree canopy. He was a little hesitant about getting into the water since it was still cold, but seemed to have fun none the less. After all it's always fun when you get to stay with Grandparents, right?

Thanks Grammie and Grandpa Loren for letting us come stay with you! Also thank you for the awesome new pool. It looks like we'll be seeing more of you guys since Tyler just got a job offer for JP Morgan Chase yesterday and we will be moving to the Portland/ Vancouver area by August 16th!

A special thanks to all those who have been keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. We are so relieved that Tyler has received this job offer and hope that our future soon starts to look brighter, which of course it already does. Our future plan is starting to take shape and form. Hooray!!
