We are trying to show our pride in the US of A sporting our red white and blue outfits. Notice Quincy is wearing his 'Born in the USA' T-shirt he got from Nanny.
After we snapped some pictures at our house we packed ourselves into the car for a night full of 4th of July fun! First we went to the parade in down town Boise. The parade itself was kind of lame. It was really unorganized...and when I say that I mean that the parade was like 3 hours long and the 'floats' or groups got so spread out that people starting leaving and ten minutes later they saw more of the 'parade route'. We got some nice goodies and had fun people watching though.
Quincy's making sure no one's trying to crowd our spot.
We had to get to the parade early so we could scout out a good spot to sit. Quincy had fun looking at all the people walking by. There was even this old guy who had a full beard and was holding a cockatail and walking two dogs. The cockatail kept whisteling at people (which I think the weird guy had trained him to do-- since it brought in great crowds of 10-12 year old girls).....it was kind of creepy.
The nice lady next to us and her daughter brought Quincy some flags they got from one of the people in the parade. He didn't know what to do with them at first....but he caught on.
Quincy is showing his patriotism waving the flags he got.
Here's a picture that the lady sitting next to us took for us.
So even though most of the 'floats' wer kind of lame, there were a few entertaining ones...Quincy liked the bag pipes. I have to say they were pretty good...and it was nice to hear music since most of the parade had no music.
As you can see Quincy has a hard time taking his eyes of the weird people...
Most of the parade groups looked something like this... seems about right seeing people who have protected the rights of our country since it's our country's independance day....
Or even floats like this... that were silly, but still somehwat patriotic.
And then there were like these massive groups of Korean people in the parade playing Korean music... kind of weird...and dancing...not quite sure what it has to do with Independance day for the USA?
Tyler and I commented on how funny it is that everyone drove these around and for the time it was really 'futuristic'. Crazy how times have changed!
Meet Chief Quincy bear:
Everything seemed to be going well until some big army fuel tankers with sirens came by and starting sounding off their sirens. It was WAYloud and Quincy jumped and then his little lip stuck out and on came the saddest cry you've ever heard. Those mean tankers and their loud sirens!! Poor little guy was shaking and sniffling while I holding him. I had to hug him tight and reassure him it was okay. It took him a couple minutes to calm down.
Sorry this was so long... but that concludes our parade adventures....I'll write a post about our firework veiwing later.

Kati you look beautiful in your red shirt. Your hair color and cut is good. It looks healthy.
Q looks pretty darn cute in his 4th of July (blow it up!) outfit, especially waving those flags. And I noticed that Tyler is stylishly joining in with the blue stripes!
Quincy, Grammie hates bagpipes. But she loves watching weird people...
We laughed hard over the "Chief Quincy Bear". How fitting!
What a nice day! Except for those D*^# tankers and their sirens!!!
Wish we were there ~ but will be SOON!
Thanks mom, I don't think Tyler planned to be festive, but I'm glad it worked out that way. My hair needs a good cut, which I have a coupon for. I'll probably get it cut before you guys come- although I'm contemplating about keeping it long- I don't know yet.
Q had LOTS of fun. He loved the fireworks and had lots of fun watching them and pointing to them. Only like 38 more days til we see you guys!
Wow that looks like fun! Quincy is getting so big and adorable! You are such a cute little family! :)
