Tyler sort of last minute decided that we were going to make the trip to Idaho for the Howard family reunion. Unfortunately at work they were short staffed, due to everyone taking time off in the lovely summer months, and so --as usual-- we had to leave later.
I told Tyler since we were leaving late Friday night and coming home Sunday afternoon that for my own sanity we needed to rent a bigger car for the trip or get a hotel room. We settled on borrowing my parents mini van (Tyler really loved driving the mini van-- ha ha). Ultimately the van was our saving grace.... there was just no way that we could have made that trip in our nissan.
We had to stop a total of 3 times on the way there, but made good time. There was a short period where Zayden was screaming, and Braxton was fighting with Quincy and crying and I felt like yelling with them and telling Tyler to just go home.... BUT we pressed on and made it there by 11:00 (PST).
Not bad, right?
The boys watched movies in the back and loved seeing all the cars the out the windows.
Feeding Z at the rest stop... he was so happy to be out of his car seat, all smiles, that is until I put him back in and he screamed for 20 minutes straight until he passed out in the picture below-- looking oh so innocent and sweet.
When we got there we had lots of fun. Of course it was hot as ever and so our boys took advantage of it and ran through sprinklers at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
B was a little shadow to his Grandpa Kent.
The family reunion was great too, we were able to see lots of family that we hadn't seen in quite a while. Mike, Kelly, and Rylie were able to make it as well-- we loved seeing Rylie so grown up since we saw her last. She's got quite the personality. :)
Love seeing the little twin cousins. Matching yellow shirts and teal shorts... as if we had planned it or something. Hard for me to believe these two are just 6 months apart!
Quincy was adamant that he never slept in the van and so we had to take this picture to proove to him that he did in fact sleep in the car. All in all it was a whilrwind trip, but we were glad we could see everyone. Thanks Kent and Teesy for letting us hang out. :)
Oh and as a side note: --I know the quality of this picture is crappy, it's from my cell phone but I just had to take it-- while at Grandma and Grandpas house the boys slept down stairs on their new futon together... when we got home I found them in B's bed one morning... apparently the whole sleeping in the same bed thing was fun enough to try when we got home.
