Happy Fourth of July

I'm so thankful for the freedoms we have in this country.
We are blessed.

This year we went to our ward Fourth of July pancake breakfast and flag raising ceremony. Afterwards we decided to head over to the Sellwood pool (which was amazing since not that many people were there). After swimming we ate dinner at Mike's Drive-In (a local favorite). Then we went to get shaved ice at our favorite food cart, but he was closed. We compromised with the kids and let them pick a frozen treat at the store. Of course they all chose something different. We rounded out our evening by watching a movie together. I'd say we had a pretty good Independence Day.

Family Camping At Timothy Lake

We spent a few days camping at our usual campground at Timothy Lake. The weather was beautiful and we had a nicest neighbor named Wing. He was a real camping enthusiast and eager to share all his tips and tricks as well as knowledge about catching fish and crawdads. The boys spent a good deal of time getting dirty, playing in the lake, building rock towers, going on hikes, sword fighting with sticks, climbing trees, and roasting marshmallows. They played hard and slept even harder. Camping (the tent kind) isn't really my cup of tea, so my only concession was that we ate well, and we did. We had a great time building memories as a family.

Family Time.

The boys could be found outside every day of summer. They spent the majority of their days on the trampoline, in the pool, and on the driveway riding bikes and playing basketball. We love being able to do things together as a family.
