Day In Damascus

You'll have to excuse the fact that these pictures are a few weeks old....

Due to an extremely old laptop with maxed out space, the minor details of leaving my camera at my parents house for a week, and that what blogging I do online is from 'borrowed' internet.... my blogging has been slowed down tremendoursly. Oh, and add on the fact that August is ALWAYS the busiest month for us with wedding season, birthdays, and vacations-- My excuses could go on and on. BUT here goes the start of playing August Blog catch up.

Two weekends ago we went as a family to the event called 'Day In Damascus'. It was sort of like a small carnival of sorts put on by various vendors in the park. Key Bank had a booth for "fishing". The kids got to throw a stick with a string attached over a tarp to "fish" for goodies. Tyler had to work the booth for a couple of hours and so I took the boys around to see what we could find. Most booths cost 2 tickets or less to take part in (the tickets were only .50) so it was a really great inexpensive event. There were lots of different booths: waterguns and supersoakers, a petting zoo, hair styling by the local salon, clowns, ramote control racecar tracks, rock climbing, a pony ride, a blow up bounce house, rides on a backhoe where you could dig up dirt, a big sand box with lots of toys, and various free booths like fire and safety stuff.

Quincy LOVED the petting zoo! Which is funny, cuz I thought he would have liked the pony ride or the blow up bounce house better.... but he liked the zoo so much we went back again. We definitey got our $2.00 worth of enterntainment petting the animals. He especially like the llama, which was recently shaven so it's fur was clean and soft. Quincy also petted miniature donkeys, a minaiature horse, bunnies, goats, a sheep, and of course that llama.

There was so much to do and the boys had lots of fun. The weather was a little cold in the morning, but what lacked in the weather department was made up for by the Day In Damascus event.

If we are still in this area next year I think we might go back again.

Looks like fun! Lucky there were so many animals to pet in the petting zoo. Our trip to the IF zoo, there was just goats to pet.
