Quincy is 5!

So... of course I'm WAYYYY behind in writing this. In fact, my poor blog has been terribly neglected. However, I wanted to take the time to write down some things about my dearest, oldest son Quincy.

His stats:
Weight: 38.2 lbs ( 30%)
Height: 42. 1/4" (34%)
Vision: 20/20

Looks like he's trending more with the Howard genes. :)

He is such a great big brother. Although he has his moments of contention with Quincy, generally he is always on the look out for his younger brother's inteterests. He is a good protector of them, especially is an older child is bullying them a little. He is a great competitor, especially with B; I know the two will push each other to grow in many ways as they get older.

Quincy is kind, loving, a leader, smart, logical, has an abundance of energy, and is a great helper.

Some new things Q has been learning over the last few weeks are:
* how to tie his shoes (he knows how, but is learning how to make it tighter so they don't come untied right away)
* learning how to tell time.
* knows how to read very well (at least 2nd grade level)
*knows how to spell pretty well.... no more spelling words we don't want him to hear anymore, know he's 'in the know'. (Sigh)
* is good at math
* learning how to ride his bike (this got put on halt when Tyler threw his back out doing something silly... and of course now it's raining every day, but he will learn soon enough)
*Is good at make believing, he recently takes various objects around the house and incorpurates them into play time.
*Mostly I'm impressed with Quincy's awareness of things kids his age are probably oblivious to.

I love you Quincy, thank you for choosing me as your mom. Your dad and I couldn't be more proud of you and all your many accomplishments, already. There are so many areas that we see you succeeding in life with, even at the young age of 5 years old, my counsel to you would be to remember that it's OK to make mistakes. No matter how hard you try, you won't get EVERYTHING perfect, but I know you will always strive for that and nothing less. Thank you for being a good example to your siblings. Your parents love you, endlessly. Thank you for being part of our family for the past 5 years, we can't wait to spend eternity watching your personality grow more.
Love,
Mom and Dad
