By now Kati and I were really good friends. We had gotten to know each other very well since we would hang out together with her roommate Kate and my best friend Matt. She would go to my basketball games and the best part was that she would come over and cook me dinner once in a while. But our relationship was about to change when my family came to Rexburg to visit. They went and watched one of my games on Friday night and Kati was able to meet my family for the first time. After my game I spent some time with my family at the hotel. Later I stopped by around one in the morning with my brother to see Kati and Kate. We were just hanging out and I invited them to go swimming with us on Saturday. Kate had to work but Kati said she would go. We basically spent the whole day together on Saturday. There was a breakfast at the church in the morning and then we went to the park to play around. Then we went to Jamba Juice—which I consider our first date even though my sisters were with us! We then went to the Green Canyon Hot Springs. It was so fun. This is when Kati started to fall for me—when I was half naked and wet! But then again I couldn’t stop checking her out either! We went bowling afterwards and then we watched a movie at my apartment (Walking Tall). We snuggled on the nasty brown bean bag and that is where we had our first kiss. I knew that she had to be the one for me because she spent over twelve hours with me and didn’t want to run away or punch me in the face!
